A Christmas Carol: A Puppet Matinée
Lawn Dart Puppets presents Dickens' classic ghost story at The Robin Theatre this December, brought to life through hand puppets, contemporary shadow theater, and a scrolling panorama (crankie).
The production combines different puppetry traditions to tell this familiar tale in a fresh way. The ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future come alive through shadows and light, while Punch & Judy-style puppets bring the characters' personalities front and center.
John Hay of Lawn Dart Puppets has gathered a group of fellow artists and educators who've been collaborating on puppet projects around mid-Michigan. Together with some talented MSU students, bitten by the puppetry bug, they are creating something special for the holiday season.
Saturday, December 20th at 1:30 PM. One performance only.
